Any Harry's laptimer users?

Just wondering what mount you use and where you mount the iPhone.
Also if you are using any gps or obdc ii connectors? Ideally in a 996 as this is what I have.

Tom Tom Iphone mounts on Ebay are great for the road, but you can't use these on a track day tho if your heading that way.. you need a VBox or similar for the TD police to let you on the track.

Yes I use Harry's LT and think it is great! I bought two RAM mounts and highly rate them - one for the windscreen (suction but very very sturdy) and one for the roll cage. These mounts are superb quality and way more sturdy than your average ebay items). If you want the part numbers feel free to PM me:

I use Harry's Lap Timer and attach the iPhone to the front screen using a sticky secure mount which has been approved by Goodwood.

Easy to use albeit it does use quite a lot of memory if you save too many videos.

That mount looks good, but does it hold the phone steady enough for good quality video footage? (i.e., the phone doesn't vibrate around all over the place?)

I'm not sure you need to spend that much - my mount which is a sticky mount to the screen which then has a holder for the iPhone 4 (or 5) on a ball link so it can be angled appropriately doesn't move at all and cost the grand sum of £2.95 delivered.

Have a look at my Goodwood link to see if it's stable enough!

I stuck mine to the windscreen. It's so sticky I broke it when I tried to move it and ended up buying another!

I believe the next version of Laptimer will allow you to link with a GoPro for picture-in-picture.

I am using the same GPS and OBD receiver (recommendation seconded). I've tried a couple of mounts to little satisfaction (too much shake) so for next week I have bought a RAM mount. I am actually going to use a few things from my selection of camera accessories to set it ahead of the roll cage (to which it will be anchored) and closer to level with the seats. I may also try the suction mount (with suitable non-sucton tethering) while I am at it. I'll report back to the thread when I return.

Footnote on the RAM solution - I have acquired both the iPhone 4 and 5 brackets for it (my old phone is being used as extra capacity basically) - the incremental cost of being able to use both versions thus amounts to an extra £9. To have that option with the Optrix (excellent though it is) would mean buying versions for both and an extra $100+ spent.

I've not tested longevity since upgrading to the (supposedly more battery hungry) 5Hz firmware, but the battery does last for hours and can be charged from any type b mini-USB car charger (one of which is supplied with it).
