MPSC's and Corsas (again!!)
Discussion
The old hack of "Which tyres should I get?", and "Where's the cheapest...?" rises again, chaps.
After having a blowout last week on the M1 on my MPSC-shod GT3, I need some new tyres, but I have since found out that there is only one supplier of Pilot Cups in the UK (Pro-Tyre).
Am I alone in thinking this can't be good for competitive pricing, or is there anyone else out there selling these tyres? I'm reluctant to buy them from Pro-Tyre, as it just doesn't "sit" well with me, IYKWIM, but if I have to bite the bullet, then so be it.
Alternative is to go for Pirelli Corsa R's, but I know how good the Cups are...

The reason pro-tyre are the only place to buy from are that the main user of the tyres are the racers from the Porsche Club GB club & open series.
Porsche club GB managed to secure a great sponsorship deal from Michelin which the competitors re-pay via fixed price very expensive tyres. A set of slicks relieve us of a smidgen under £1000.00

Oh bloody marvellous.
So the club gets money via forcing it's members to buy specific tyres at overinflated prices. I'm sure when the club was set up it was done so, to serve it's members.
