but look at the new 0-160kph times

new GT3 PDK 7.5

it's fast allright.

even the 500BHp RS 4.0 is 7.8

Yes it's fast, but now it's just any other car. If you can save several tenths on each gear change then of course the acceleration times are going to take a big cut. But really, who gives a sh!t. I've said it till I'm blue in the face; gear shift times are irrelevant in a road car. And a GT3 is a road car.

I would love to read the reaction if the new GT3 was manual but had a 0-60 time of 6s and a 0-100 time of 12s.

This, the GT3 was starting to look a bit slow, they had to fit PDK for the figures.

Who knows, but I dont see why not? There is a market for a lighter more stripped out car surely?

is there really a market these days though to make it worth while for Porsche ?

My view is that these flagship cars and also success in racing is the most important part of their business strategy.

I truly believe that GT3's sell Cayennes. I think they call it leak-down. Its image, brand recognition, heritage, respect etc etc.

So yes, they should make an RS. But hey, I am no brand specialist.
