997 C2 vs 997C2s vs 996C4s

My 996 c2 is going to go up for sale shorty I expect in the next month or if I find the right one and if the px is a fair price could be sooner!
I have been looking about ideally I want a 997 - bit better inside and performance is better over the 996.
Budget I don't really want to be going over 25k.
So what do I go for? I liked the look of the 997c2s but I have heard there are engine issues with the 3.8 and the 3.6 is a bit more reliable- how common is this?
Then as this is within budget I have been coming across a few nice 996c4s which has tempted me and they are a bit cheaper than a 997 so this is tempting also.
Or do I wait around and try and get lucky and find a 996 turbo, however I think this is a big ask as with my budget I am looking at a high mileage older turbo so I don't think this is the best idea?!
