Hello Everyone

I have been putting this off for a while now! and i am hoping someone can ease my concerns. Last April i Purchased my almost Dream Car A Boxster 3.2 S (911 would be first Choice) I done all the homework, test drives mileage & service checks. I picked what i hoped was a nice example An 04 68000 miles on clock, 1 Owner full Main Dealer Service History, very clean paintwork and interior. (owner was a Doctor) Now here is the hard part, I was purchasing a van from a local dealer whom i had played golf with a few times and i had said i would give him a bit of business. so when i was viewing the Van i noticed the boxster on the Lot. I had a quick look and inquired about it, when they fired her up i thought the engine was a bit noisy... they said that this was because it had not been run for a few weeks!?!. Anyway i bought the van on the day i was to pick the van up i took a run in the Boxster it seemed good no noises or Rattles! we done a deal and i was the happy owner of a lovely Boxster!. Anyway the van broke down 6 times in the first 4 weeks and relations with the dealer got extremely Poor. well about 6 weeks later the Boxster spilled litres of coolant on to the road... I got very worried but it seemed it was a faulty cap. but now i have noticed that the engine is noisy and i get white smoke when i start her up and have a very strong smell of petrol when sitting at lights or parked with engine running?!. Now all i can think off is the engine noise when i first seen the car. Can anyone point me in the right direction before i go to Porsche Dealer. Many Thanks
Ps. Sorry for the long story but i think i let my Heart rule me wee Heed... Because the alarm bells should have gone off when i had all the problems with the Van.... Bad experience with dealer i purchased from.

Perhaps put what area you are and someone will point you in the right direction of a trusted indy to cast their eye over it.

Sounds to me like this dealers wacked some slick 50 in the top to quieten the engine down and punt the car out!?

Good luck!

I wouldn't worry about the puff of spoke (in itself, the noisy engine is a concern); These engines often burn a little oil on startup when they're left to stand for a while.

From the sound of it, 'investing in a fire' may be the best option.... wink
