PDK, heated seats (but I've a Cab), telephone module, multi function steering wheel. I should have picked heated steering wheel. And maybe sports seats but the configurator is misleading (or was) as it quotes something like £1600 when in fact it's only about £300 extra. Anything else is unnecessary as when at my Silverstone course the instructor did things with the basic car that I'll NEVER be able to do. Fantastic car though, enjoy.
Personally I could not live with the multi-function wheel if I am going to change gears - sports wheel here.
PSE
PCM
Phone
Heated seats
Two tone leather is LOVELY in Grey/Pebble - does get dirty though if you live somewhere mucky/allow your kids in the car
I have PASM -20 which I like as I like my cars lower and firmer
I do not have PDCC and have noticed that review and press cars now do not have it and review better.

PDK, telephone module is very good. Comes pretty well specced anyway. Heated seats and wheel would be nice, but on cold days i drive a RR which has all those and more. Personal choice really, PDK probably the only must have. Paid 88 for mine with a few other options (glass roof, sports wheel, rear park, home link, chrome window surrounds, wheels). You can easily spend over 100 if you're not careful. Then I'd be looking at GT3.

I am considering coming back to Porsche and am test driving a 991 S tomorrow.
I appreciate that options are a matter of personal taste and opinion but are there any that are considered a "must have"?
Cheers.
It depends how you are going to use the car and how deep your pockets are.I appreciate that options are a matter of personal taste and opinion but are there any that are considered a "must have"?
Cheers.

Options I would DEFINITELY want regardless of use:
PDK
Phone module
DAB (when available grrrrrrr)
Options I would choose for a car to be used in town:
PDK
DAB
Phone module
Multi-function steering wheel
Power steering plus
Paint upgrade to something not red, white, black, yellow
Burmester
Heated steering wheel
Heate seats.
Options I would choose for a car NOT to be used in town, but driven mostly fast on A roads.
PDK
Phone module
Power steering plus
Burmester
-20mm suspension
DAB
Sports seats
Sports Exhaust
Options I would choose for a "multi-purpose" car, good in town and out of it:
PDK
DAB
Phone module
Power steering plus
Burmester
PDCC
Heated seats
Sports seats
Sports Exhaust
Add to any of the above specs your choice of wheels, wheel centres, embossed headrests etc etc.
If money is no object and you're prepared to suck up the depreciation, go to town with extended leather, paint to sample, factory collection etc etc.
Edited to add, I specced:
Carrara White
Black Leather
20” Carrera Classic wheels
Delete model designation
Burmester
Power folding mirrors
Cruise Control
Floor Mats
Heated seats
Park assist rear
PCM
PDK
Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC)
Power steering plus
Porsche Crests on headrests
Wheel centre set
Sports Chrono Plus
Porsche Sports Exhaust
Sports Seats Plus
Telephone Module
Top tint windscreen
Wheel spacers 5mm
It is a third car and was purchased to be used as a sports car with occasional forrays into town. It performs the role very well indeed.

For me:
PDK (was undecided on this for some time, but live in london so thought more practical)
Sport chrono (only if you spec PDK)
Bose
Telephone module
Sportsteering wheel
Heated seats
Folding mirrors
Powerkit was on the list for long time, but price decided against it.

Eta mine is identical to the picture above. Initially specced chrome surrounds and standard wheels. Chrome surrounds accentuates the classic teardrop shape which is great on darker coloured cars. Then saw platinum silk wheels on agate and changed the order. Starting to see that combo more and more now.

If you've got respect for EVO Magazine's opinion ...then the ensuing might be relevant.
They've decried PDCC and Power Steering Plus....
and ticked the boxes on the Powerkit, PSE and, somewhat surprisingly, the AWD option.
Each to their own and all, but I think they are wrong about PDCC and PSP. Again depending upon intended use. They've decried PDCC and Power Steering Plus....

As a subscriber, I enjoy EVO, but their opinions are very balanced towards ultimate performance / driving fun and much less focussed on day to day ownership. This is most obvious with their long term tests, where many cars receive much more favourable comments compared to one-off testsEdited by Perec on Sunday 17th March 14:24
