Should I purchase 1992 911 Cabrio

I have been a TVR owner for 6 years and have finally got to the point of smashing it into a brick wall (its either that or my head!!)

I have an opportunity to buy an excellently maintained 911 C2 Cabrio (92) Full Porsche service history with 70k miles on the clock.

Anyone got a similiar model? What are they like--I have a very limited knowledge of porsche but have always loved the design of the car - I understand that it is one of the last air cooled cars--what problems does that bring if any??

As a Porsche, not the best, not the worst.

As a TVR substitute, absolutelybloodymarvellous!!!

If you really like it then buy it. It may be that as you learn more about 911's you will change it for something different. Worth comparing prices as 964s dont hold price as well as 993's ...anything less than 15k is a steal but anything more than 18k will not be a bargain. Sorry not to be super-enthusiastic but the 911 is a complex animal and one man's meat is another mans 996

Drive it first. It depends on what TVR you owned, but I can't see the 911 giving you that raw feeling that a TVR gives (but it can give you the same bum clenching feeling as you enter a wet bend too fast)....

If you want TVR feel and noise with 911 character, find a 964 RS (I'm surprised Domster missed out on the opportunity to mention them)

Hi Rubystone, the 964RS in your colour (of course ) might be double the money as well as LHD...but will definitely lead to twice as much bum-clenching
