Hi - I have a fault with the instrument back light which comes on intermittently when I turn the side or headlights on/off - when it lights it stays lit until I turn off but does not always come back on again. So I guess an issue at the headlight rotary switch end as road bumps and jolts dont effect. Is this a known fault and repariable or a likely switch replacement?

Hello,

Next time you turn on the lights and you have no instrument lighting, check the number plate lights. If they are not on then your light switch is at fault.

I've had two light switches fail on my turbo.

First time it affected the headlights. Was replaced with a used one.

Second time, it affectd the interior lights - I don't remember it being the dash lights, but certainly the interior switch lights didn't come on.

They do seem to be a rather common fault.
