Which version of 911?

I'm 6'2" (with fairly long legs) and in my 997 C4S I have plenty of room (I don't need to use the full range of fore-aft seat adjustment).

I'm 6'4 - 997 (2005 onwards) is fine and dandy do. Legs akimbo on the steering wheel but your probably used to that.

996, might be a squeeze - deffo avoid sunroofs! Not as much height adjustment (if any) on the steering wheel on 996 (1997-2004).

Dunno about cars before that...

I'm 6'4" and my 997 has lots of room - I don't use all the fore/aft adjustment. My car doesn't have a sunroof (fortunately) so I can't comment on whether a sunroof would be intrusive to a tall driver, I do however keep the drivers seat at its lowest setting and there's loads of headroom.

I'm 6'6", just bought a 997.2 S, plenty of leg room, but to get close enough to the wheel, you might find it a bit tight between the left leg and steering wheel in tight manoeuvres whilst changing gear, but no biggie. Lots of room overall.
Avoid a sunroof and you'll have a good few inches to spare between head and roof. All the best.

I'm 6'4" and after over a year of researching and looking at ads the first time I actually sat in a 996 I just didn't fit frown The steering column has a certain amount of fore-aft adjustment but strangely no up-down and I couldn't get a driving position where I could brake properly.

With thin-soled shoes and now with a different steering wheel fitted it's not too bad but I could still do with the wheel a bit closer to me. Adding more spacers to the wheel makes it a stretch to reach the stalks unfortunately.

As for headroom, my car has no sunroof and it's absolutely fine but not quite enough space for me to wear a helmet, which rules out any track days for me. I'm investigating fitting buckets to give me a touch more space.

Best advice - go and sit in one. Everyone has slightly different proportions.

I'm 6'4" and fit in a 964 or a 996 Turbo happily enough, even wearing a helmet.

Whereas I am 6'3" and have to slouch down in the seat to fit in my 964 with a helmet on, tbh uncomfortably so, but I am "long-bodied, short-legged" relatively speaking.

at 6'5" i fit well in my 996T , I'm long of body so don't know if this makes a difference.

of all the sports cars I have sat in the 911 is the most accomodating.

I have owned 928,s, 944’s and 968’s and I am thinking of a 911 2003 or 2004 4s, but sat in yesterday and found out I do not fit. At 6’4” very long legs there is not enough leg room. Has annyone tried extending the seat track travel or moving the seat track anchor points rearward?

+1

(Leg to body ratio will matter - I have a 36" inside leg...type of seats may also have a bearing - "sports" seats in mine...with the additional shoulder bits).

I have a 997 and a 991. Strangely when I only had the 997 it seemed just fine. The other day I drove it after the 991and felt it was a bit tight on
