With a full clean/detail in progress on my car when it comes to the exhaust what should it be as standard. Is it shiny stainless on the outer and rim and black paint on the inner?

Yes.
Use high temperature black paint for the inside!

Perfect, my detail is half way through. Bought a polishing DA kit and lots more that the wife doesn't know about. It will be like a new car in another week although to be consistent with my high standards I think the wheels need sending to the professionals, but for this year they will be fine. The paint is now like glass, if anyone has the time (2 hours per panel) and the enthusiasm it is very rewarding, although it would be nice to drive it....It was 20° here on Friday.

What products do you suggest to get a great finish, I bought my 996 4s in October last year and intend to do a good detail when the weather warms up. Any help appreciated.

Thanks, I was quite chuffed with how they turned out...

All done by Steve Edwards 07980 607017, wouldn't use anyone else for a painted wheel...
