I have got a 2010 2.9 cayman had from new about 27000 miles on it thinking of get a 997 gen 2 on about 2009 -2010 plate or the new cayman s this is the only porsche I have owned your thoughts

Unless its a turbo or gt3 I would not bother swapping into a 911. It's only then that the upgrade justifies the extra cost.

Even then I would have to have extra motivation to swap.

For me, I needed the rear seats, it just so happens that the turbo is also a rocket.

It's a hard thing to accept but I think once you have owned a 2.9 cayman or boxster, the laws of diminishing returns kick in.

I will need to try the new cayman but al 2.9 on 18 inch wheels with a nice exhaust is driving nirvana.

Drive a 911 and make your own mind up. I have driven Boxsters and Caymans and they hold no attraction for me, compared with a 911S.

We're all different.

For me the 997S didn't hit the spot. I actually like my current boxster as much. However, Porsche designed the GT3 just for me!
