Enough waffle - I would rather buy direct from the private owner/driver and hopefully in the process save a few pennies. So if anyone has a perfect stunning low mileage original GT2/RS with equally lovely history and is thinking of the unthinkable (selling) please give me a ping.

Forgive me, but is this strange logic to `save a few pennies` when you are looking to spend very big numbers to get either GT2/RS!

Do you really want to rule out the OPC network and high-end dealers in your quest? I would have thought that with these cars in such short supply you might want to look at all available vehicles, no?

I am also in the market for a 997 GT2, if 911Bianca passes on anything offered up.

I'm not looking for a substitute. Gt2 or gt2 Rs is more interesting as I have 2 gt3rs'. Will still be keeping an eye out for a Scud.

If option code 003 defines a Clubsport (and it does), I believe in 2009 there were 5 imported ..

I just though that with so few imported into the UK, you really are looking at just a handful of very sought after cars.

I understand the logic of finding a treasured example that may not be for sale at the moment, but to prise one from its current owner on this basis, is surely going to involve the payment of a premium if anything!

Good luck with your quest, you are in a very fortunate position smile

What do you mean by low mileage? I use mine way too much smash

There's another chap who's been looking for over a year, he's been to see a few and the cars that have come up have either been damaged or have over revs in RR4+

It also seems that most of the cars that come up are white, I've not seen another black one, strange really considering it was the launch colour used in the videos etc.

This one has been advertised for ages...is it no longer actually for sale, or is there a story...?

That's mine. It went on sale last March and I bought it within a week of it being advertised. Pistonheads and OPC West London seem incapable of removing the advert, I've asked both of them about 10 times but seeing as it's been a year I guess it's there for good!

In terms of mileage, mine's just about to hit 23k, guess it's a bit leggy and I'm probably stuck with it then hehe

Assuming my lottery numbers wonted be coming up any time soon, this one looks pretty good. Not sure how mint it is but mechanically I think JZM are a good bunch.

Spotted this one from DK Engineering. No idea if it's still for sale. Know nothing about it either, but it looks superb.

They are very different cars as you know. I have a couple of 997 RS which I am hanging on to and have driven the GT2. I found it was frankly too much car for me personally. However probably a matter of personal taste/ability. There was e a handful of GT2 RS also but never had a chance to drive one. I am not aware of significant changes tot eh GT2 during its production run but there may have been a few changes.

The JZM GT2 looks a nice reasonable mile car (12k) but has had 4 owners! As mentioned I hoped for scaffolding and red passenger foot rest but guess not critical.

Anyone know any details re car and history - good or bad. Thanks.

Main difference was the change from PCM.2 to PCM.3
Apparently in 2008 34 GT2's were sold via Porsche Cars GB with the old PCM.2 system and then in 2009 28 cars were built with PCM.3

PCM.2 was the old outdated system with telephone buttons embeddded and clunky sim card drawer. In my opinion it was out of date from day one. Had it in my 997 GT3 RS.1 and just put up with it because I didn't have much choice. PCM.3 has touch screen and is far, far nicer to use. Later cars were able to cope with iPods, iPhone etc.

Won't the OP save £5-10k of mark up though? Hardly pennies albeit I realize that is what the OP says ...
