The new Cayenne Diesel is outstanding if you need a luxury, sporting SUV, and demand remains pretty strong. Some will want the 4.2 V8, others the 3.0 V6, so most OPCs will resist discounting, unless they really have a need to.
However, the new RR Sport will be out later this year and, for those who must be seen in the latest 'must have' SUV, some demand may move in that direction, which could lead to Cayenne prices softening - IMO.

Where in the UK are you based? I just got my Diesel S from Edinburgh, they had a cancellation which I managed to snap up with a reasonable discount.
Aberdeen were 6-7 months for a Diesel S and when I bought my Diesel 2 years ago it was 6 months wait for that too.
The Diesel is plenty good enough for everyday motoring and slightly more frugal on fuel too. But I just had to have the extra ooomph
