Hi guys
Could anyone please throw some light on my problem please.
I have a 944s on a E plate, the idle speed is running at about 1400RPM, I have taken the idle speed adjuster out with is on the throttle body so it cant be adjusted any lower, i have also tried releasing the thottle cable down on the adjuster, looked for any breather pipes that may have come off and everything looks ok. has anyone else had this problem or knows what it could be please.

Many thanks

Air leak into induction system is what I normally look for; is this what you mean by checking 'breather pipes'?

Could be an expired paper inlet manifold gasket etc.

the idle speed screw?
Is that allowing more air in? try screwing it in rather than out.

Also take a look at www.clarks-garage.com which shows you the complete procedure. You are supposed to disable the idle stabilistion valve whilst adjusting the screw or it will just fight against you. It's very easy
