Good Evening,
Known it's been covered before and trawled through past posts to find, no joy!!!
What are your views on manufacturers and reliable places to purchase?
Came to take CR out on Sat after hibernation and wouldn't start, heard CTEK are the business, advice please.
Thanks in advance for your views.

CTEK MXS 3.6 probably all you need. My old man just got one for just over £40, comes with eyelet battery conn lead with connection dust cover and croc clips lead.

CTEK works brilliantly, but I think there are other cheaper alternatives.

The battery on my Shed was totally flat (and was parked in front of my garage door blocking the Spyder in!) so I connected the CTEK , overnight charge, battery fully charged the next morning.
This same battery wouldn't even jump start from another sound battery.

Wouldn't be without one.

I use a CTEK on my Scud its the item recommended by Ferrari seems to do exactly what it says on the tin, think mines a version 5 and it was about £60 from a main dealer.

CTEK is the business. Had mine for 6 years, connected under the bonnet, closed on the wire with no issues so no need to charge through the lighter socket.

CTEK MXS 5.0 is about £50 delivered if you shop around, can charge larger capacity batteries and has programmes to revive heavily discharged batteries. It works, too. Well worth the extra tenner.

C-Tek are good but if you get the opportunity buy one from Aldi or Lidl they have them on special, from time to time does exactly the same as the C-Tek believe me as i have the two makes running at present . The Aldi /Lidl is only £14 against £60 In fact i have a spare one so cheap you cannot go wrong and come with a 5 year warranty

Mines hooked up to one of these: http://www.airflow-uk.co.uk/Battery-Conditioner.ht...

Nearly 5 years old now and has been used pretty much every single day in those 5 years, can't fault it.

I had a ctek on the 360 and that was great, now on the jet ski..

For balance, verysideways swears by accurate.

Buy either, they will do the job.

Sorry for hijacking this thread but does anyone have pics of the ctek connected to their battery.

Im scared of electricity and the owners manual for my 993 confused me. The charging light didnt go on so i thought it best not to use the charger. I think i read someowhere in owners manual about reverse grounding on the 993. Whatever it was it confused me.

The 993 is too old to be able to use the lighter socket

Ah, the 993.

That's different - don't you have to use some type of valved Bakelite charger?

LIDL here too. Two of them in fact, one for the car, one for the 'bike. Both work a treat.

I have been using Optimate chargers for both cars and bikes for many years. Never had an issue.

My 2003 GSX-1400 is on its original battery!

Another for the CTEK - I've got the XS3600 (now replaced by the MXS 3.6), good product, easy to use, silent in operation and generates a lot less heat than my old Halfrauds cheapie (which got hot and "zizzed" in a disarming fashion)!
