Quick question for any of those on here who may have used the POR15 caliper painting kit.

Overall I've been very impressed with the kit, only issue is the colour. I bought the red kit expecting the usual porsche red caliper colour, but have found after 3 coats its more Ribena / red wind colour than the bright guards red colour that porsche calipers should be.

Has anyone got experience with the kit? I've painted calipers many ties before on previous cars and never had any issues.

Do I keep painting and hope it lightens up? - I'm weary as after 3 coats its still far too dark, and caliper is well covered.

Or is it that the POR 15 red caliper paint just isn't the right shade of red? Seems more likely...

A friend repainted his calipers & found Guards Red was the best colour....oh, & he suggested not applying any lacquer as that will change appearance under the heat cycle brakes go through

Thanks - Do you know where I could get some from? I've also heard the official porsche caliper colour is Guards Red. Can't just use normal paint as it needs to be heat resistant..
