I picked up my Toyota Aygo 996 this weekend, which have greatly improved my Monday morning

Nice work! I dream of improving my commute from my current 13 year old snoozebox!

How's the 996 as a daily from your one day's experience? Must feel pretty special presumably for the money.

So far it's felt pretty special, yes smile the Oxford ring road was dealt with slightly quicker than usual.

It's surprisingly comfortable, well mannered and un-intimidating, although parallel parking (it lives out on the street) is not much fun. I've only filled the tank up once and have no idea what MPG I'm getting out of it, but it doesn't seem too thirsty and anyway, that's hardly the point of a car like that.

So far so good!

Something like 25mpg in mixed commuting should be ball park. Not unreasonable IMO.

That was the sort of thing I was hoping for. I had a bit of a b-road-blast then filled it up, the needle didn't move much after 50 miles of 6th gear A road relaxing.

Best office comment of the day "I thought you were getting a 911; that's not a proper Porsche" banghead

Looks like you have wheel spacers on the rear ?
I also use mine for my daily commute which would be a little more special if they filled in the bloody potholes in Oxfordshire.

It's got the larger Turbo wheels fitted, which stick out a little more than I'm happy with. Hopefully it'll go through an MOT (it always has done so far), but it's the parking that I'm most worried about. They do look a bit special though smile

Great stuff OP.

Just changed jobs so will be swapping 6 years of miserable (and expensive) tube journeys into central london, for 25 mins of backroad blasting in the 996! Cannot wait to use the porker every day!

One thing I have noticed over the last few days is that there's a lot of prats on the road. I never got it in my old Golf TDI, but now I've been tailgated pretty much constantly in town and at every roundabout or slip road someone has to make a show of overtaking me.

This is often quite amusing, but in 2 days I've seen more car-based-bellendery than I've seen in years!
