I've a dislike for blank buttons in cars and I've noticed that the 991 has 10 buttons and very few are used on the standard car and some some are used with options like PSE. Is it possible to spec a car so that all buttons are used and if so what is that spec?

I'm going to ask my OPC that very question when I pick up my Cayman. Even the cars reviewed in the magazines had many blanks and they were fully loaded.

I know in the Cayman at least that on the center console that you can't fill all the buttons. On the left if you have all the options you have Sports, Sports Plus, a PASM button and PSM. On the right you get a spoiler button, PSE and auto start stop. So on max spec cars there's only 7 buttons leaving the inevitable blanks.

As above, I think even with everything spec'd there are three blanks.

I think it is quite cheap of Porsche to use blank buttons in the interior.

On the old model the piece below the climate control is custom depending on what options are fitted.

Seems to me like they are saving money at the expense of quality.

I can't say as that I've noticed, or that it bothers me.

But then again, I don't arrange my bean tins so all the labels face the same way wink

Remember these are Gen 1 cars, who knows what goodies Porsche have planned to fill the remainders....?

I do, well beer cans anyway, so perhaps that's why it bothers me. Looks like you have a poverty spec car when you have blanks too.

cheap and nasty blanking buttons. No idea why Porsche did it, so much cleaner on the 9x7.

Definate step backwards, but probably the only one.

Looks nasty indeed. 997 better, legendary W124 Mercedes better.

My 991 has pretty much all the extras you can get and still has fake buttons galore.
