Changed back to the summer wheel set today. Other than making sure the salt is washed off what should I spray them with to stop deterioration during storage. Another job for WD40?
Cheers dw

Get a few layers of wax on them.

...and tucked away in the garage away from sunlight I would have thought. This must be catching - the winter wheels came off both of our 'daily' Fords this morning and are now stashed under the bench hopefully not to be required for a while!

Clean then up properly and then apply a few coats of FK1000P to the wheels inside and out, even dress the tyres too...

I put my spare sets in zip-up wheel and tyre bags too, but then I`m a bit OCD...

That's the stuff! I have some and it lasts ages! It's used on boat hulls isn't it? Some use it on bodywork too.

No need to waste wax on wheels, gt85 works very well too (better than wd40)

ETA - safe on anodised fuchs rims too

Waste wax? What does that mean? It's probably about 10p a wheel.

What is the recommended way to store wheels: stacked om top of each other or side by side?

Tyres fitted to wheels can be stacked, tyres only should be stood upright (but rotated every few weeks).

Changed mine back onto the summer wheels and tyres yesterday. I can hopefully start leaning on it a bit again now without the squidgy thread blocks of the winters moving underneath me.

I changed mine back over this morning. A revelation after five months of winters!
