What speed does the rear spoiler automatically lift. How do I know if its worked. What difference ahould I feel

I ask this because I get a wobble at 85 ish. Also, there is a button I can press to lift it, but when would I do that and again what effect should I feel

Does it not say in the manual, and is it not visible in rear view mirror? You won't feel any difference. My 996t rises about 75 (not that I've ever seen it officer :-)), goes down again about 35. No need to raise manually other than when cleaning.

The button to raise it manually is primarily for cleaning purposes but some people like to drive around with it up all the time. rolleyes

Cayman Gen I spoiler goes up at 75 mph and down at 50 mph.

And no, you can't see it from the normal driving position when going along.

And you won't feel anything unless you are doing F1 style driving - it produces a small amount of rear downforce for highspeed (i.e. over 100mph) corners. I never lift it, so have no idea if it's working or not, but may now consider driving with it 'erect' - does this impress the ladies?

To be honest I would be surprised if it made any noticeable difference at all when popped up. After all when it’s up how much weight do you think it could support without braking . I bet it would not cope with 50kg so how much down force do you imagine it will produce.

As I recall the Audi TT spoiler creates about 20kg of downforce at 100mph or so (and this seems to be the standard figure for almost any spoiler that I read about), so I'd guess it's about the same. So no, I don't think anybody but Jenson Button would notice the difference. That said, the Audi spoiler allegedly cured the car's preponderance to come spinning off the Autobahn at great speed.

And it also had ESP added at the same time as the spoiler so who knows? biggrin
