Help! 964 immobiliser location
Discussion
Just on the ferry to the 'Ring in the 964.
Locked the car up with the button on the fob, then remembered I needed to get back in the car. Pressed the fob- nothing.
Looks like the battery in the fob has gone, but can't get a battery. Have the immobiliser key though.
Anyone know where abouts the key fits which, I presume, will de-immobilise the car and get me going?

It could be anywhere.
But it's likely to be on or around the dash, thats assuming the key is still active. You probably realise this but that key is part of the dealer fit immobiliser package made by Hamilton Palmer. If you have an aftermarket alarm immobiliser eg. Scorpion then chances are the original Porsche immobiliser has been disconnected and you will need to go in and bridge the ignition wires it intercepts (a lot easier than you probably realise.).
However chances are the socket is around the stalks behind the wheel, or on the lower dash panel area.

That's a Hamilton and Palmer key. The control unit is behind the dash on a 944 and I believe that it is on a 964 too, but Im not certain. They were always the same as they were fitted in Reading.
Some cars have an metal armoured surround riveted on but many do not. H&Ps telephone number is +44 (0)1732 760022 and their website: http://www.hamilton-palmer.co.uk/
Of course, they wont be able to help until tomorrow morning. That key is passive btw - which you may know as I have only skimmed.

Having read a little more of your post, are you sure that the active fob and the passive key both work on the same alarm? The H&P unit is a pre-Thatcham passive immobiliser. Admittedly my experience with these is all with Frontrunners, but I have only ever seen the H&P as a standalone immobiliser.
My point is that the H&P key may be a blind alley.
