Hi All, new to the forum.

I've had my 997 (C2S) for just over a year and all has been good (well, as a newbie to the world of Porsche, actually amazing and never fails to plant a smile on me!) bar a new alternator. However, driving in town in heavy traffic recently and the oil temperature went up very high, as did the overall temperature and the dash displayed the message "Engine Compartment Blower Failure".

When checking the web for this I have seen some people saying that there is a fuse for the blower. If it is just a fuse then would rather resolve that way than via a whole new blower unit! I've checked and looked at the fuse plan but nothing obvious jumps out as being the correct fuse (does it come under a different name in the plan?). Has anybody any experience in this at all?

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Darren

There is also a temperature sensor in the engine bay that can fail making the fan kick in/or not, causing the engine to run hotter. I suggest that you get your local servicing specialist to plug their computer in and they will tell you straight away what it is.

Thanks MrC. I've done a bit more digging and think I'm going to have to visit the garage, fingers crossed nothing too expensive!
