Starting to look around for these & the white/blue one at JZM has caught my eye, has anyone been to see it or does anyone know the car?

I remember the red/white had forum stigma attached due to over-revs but I can't remember anything about the other one scratchchin

Cheers ade, a quick search brings up this thread;
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Makes it sound like its had a smash so it would be interesting to find out exactly what's happened to it

slight off at the ring I believe mate.. if Seawise was in charge of the repair I'd be very confident that it was carried out thoroughly. nice car.

Speak to Russ,

+1

When I went in there and asked about the Red one Russ was 100% transparent and upfront about the cars history and previous life. JZM are amongst the best IMO, no question.

The blue and white one is Kurgen's old car!

I did a deal with him to buy it (at around £10k lower than market rate for never crashed one) after it had been (properly) repaired by Manthey following a reasonable sized off at Wipperman. It had a K410 fitted, but the repair was something in excess of €35K... Caused some friction with the insurance company as I remember.

Sadly, Kurgen was a bit mental in those days (biggrin) and the deal didn't happen, so i had buy another one from Camtune which was expensive, but never had a repair.

I would buy a crashed one again as long as had been repaired properly. Clearly a discount would be expected....

Sadly, there are people out there who won't volunteer the proper history on cars and that is annoying. When I came to sell mine I was competing with some real hounds out there and in the end sold it into the trade as I was fed up people telling it was stone chipped. Yes but it had original Porsche applied paint!

Also beware cars that have an average speed of 30mph (from post above). Probably had the milage shrunk....

Hmm reading the explanation on the other thread of "a little off at the wipperman", I'm not sure it's possible to have "a little" off there!

Do you know which/ how many panels were replaced? €35k doesn't actually go that far at manthey (strangely another GT3 I inspected had been rebuilt at least once there) but I'm guessing it wasn't that "little" an accident. Are the invoices for repair with the car I wonder?

The JZM blue was owned by myself for some time as mentioned in a past thread, i didn't bend the car, that was a previous owner 'kurgen'. The repair was fairly extensive, rear offside iirr, no paperwork of course, as it was sold to a dealer as a partex with no disclosure of damage. Anyway the repair was very professionally done as you'd expect from MM so it didn't bother me unduly. Its very well set up, very fast and clearly cheap if you aren't botherd about the accident damage and lack of a/c. I would happily but it back (subject to doing dd from subsequent owners to me)except for a lack of funds. It's not one for polishing and showing, but if you want for for driving and the odd trackday i'd say its a goodun. Blue ones are much faster by the way....
