When I'm on a very light throttle (first quarter inch) in all gears, I'm getting very irregular revs. It sort of surges and falters. If I lift off completely it goes away, likewise with a bit more throttle the problem goes. I'm suspecting blocked injectors, so I thought I'd try some injector cleaner in with the fuel before heading to more expensive places.
Anyone got any experience of this, or a better diagnosis?
The car's a '91 S2 BTW.

Is your throttle microswitch properly adjusted? If it's not opening as soon as the throttle is touched the dme will still think the throttle is closed and get confused.

Ah, I hadn't thought of that. It's a multi-meter job, isn't it? I'll have to hunt mine out.
Do you think the injector cleaner's a good idea anyway?

Thanks for the advice

It may well be worth getting the airflow meter checked.

They tend to wear in the area that is used most frequently (which to be fair is light throttle applications) and confuse the ECU. I have had similar problems with my 8v 944 and a new meter solved it.
