996tt Cruise Control

Morning chaps,

CC on mine seems to have given up the ghost but the green light on the dash on start up still functions.

Any ideas on where to start first, a fuse, the stalk unit at fault or is there something else that is a common failing?

..Same system that's on mine, best to plug it in and see if its registered a fault code which will point to a switch, but could be dirty contacts on the stork for push/pull, as the button on the end works.., the 4 way switch block is not too expensive if its buggered.

Seems to be the button that's the issue so doesn't engage CC. Never had an issue with the stalk not working, should have mentioned that before

I'll get the fault codes read to see if there are any present and take it from there.

You can check the stalk switches using the Input Signals view with a Porsche tester in the Instrument Cluster and DME control modules. Other possibilities are:

Fuse B7
Clutch switch
Brake switch

Fuse is all good, but had error code 446: clutch pedal decoder

Reset the fault code and working again. Will see if it happens again and look at replacing the pedal switch.

New clutch pedal switch has cured it. £11.52 + Vat from Leeds OPC.
