As per title, what are your thoughts on the two cars below, if you were to buy one which would it be and why? One of the dealers only offer a 6 month RAC warranty which worries me a little compared to the warranties offered by the likes of RSJ, 911Virgin, SCOM etc.

The green one looks more like a complete, thought out package. The blue car looks a bit of a mish-mash with a hydraulic rear spoiler (check if it is indeed operational) with GT2-ish top deck, blue interior, black seats, red belts, grey steering wheel with yellow stitching - maybe the creators were colour-blind? confused

Thanks for the replies, I have to say that the green one is pulling me more, the only thing concerning me is only having the 6 month RAC warranty, would you be bothered by this and has anyone any experience of the RAC warranty?

Thanks

I would suggest that you could ask SCoM to do an inspection for you; for a few hundred you could get peace of mind or avoid a potential lemon.

Can't believe a car like that has a warranty at all.

I have seen the green car at SCOM a couple of years ago and it looked amazing - at first glance it looks like a 997 GT 3RS!

Those gents clearly did a thorough job.

Is it wrong that I quite like the green one other than the green panelling of the seats...

Hi Rob, why are you surprised it would come with any warranty and are you sure it was not the GT3 that they also did?

Bubblesnw, do SCOM carry out PPI's, if so would give me good peace of mind.

No idea, but as they made it in the first place I'm sure it's worth a call to Mark to discuss.

That is what appealed with your idea, the fact that they did the original mods.

They were parked next to each other!!

Am just surprised that such a modified car comes with a warranty - am about to renew mine on the Spyder and it has to remain unmodified for the Porsche warranty. Appreciate other products are out there but clearly the underwriters must be confident in the mods

Ok my bad.

Yes but it is only a 6 month RAC warranty and that is what I do not have a clue on, if it is as good as most of the other third party warranties you hear bad reports about then it is not worth having!

Maybe ring the warranty firm and see what they will cover, labour rates etc.

Was a great looking car when I saw it.

Having found some info on the RAC warranty, which for cars over ten years old is limited to listed components, I think it will be more important to have a decent ppi carried out.

600 BHP of 'Usable' power. Clearly they have never driven on Sheffields roads!
