What do you guys think of this? He says it is spotless, I am negotiating to try and buy it at the moment. What do you think it is worth? It's had 4 owners.

A Porsche 911 3.8 2S 997 Gen II, in midnight blue with full grey leather interior and PDK gearbox, fully loaded with nearly all the available extras. It has full Porsche supplying dealer service history from Porsche Nottingham, has covered 30,000 miles and is covered by Porsche' manufacturer warranty and roadside recovery until the end of Sept 2014. The next service, due in 2014, is included in the price and will be be done by either Porsche Nottingham or one of their group dealers. This car is as good as buying from a main dealer, with the same assurities, and no unexpected expenses for the next couple of years.

This car drives faultlessly is in excellent condition, the bodywork is unmarked and the turbo alloys are as new. I am selling it as I simply do not get to drive it as often as it should be.

It has virtually every extra specified:

7 Speed PDK Gearbox
19 Inch Turbo Alloy Wheels

Extended PCM 3 Touchscreen 3D Satnav

Bose Sound Upgrade

CD Changer

Sports Chrono Package Plus

Telephone Module For PCM With Bluetooth Connectivity

Multi Function 3 Spoke Steering Wheel Finished In Smooth Leather

Universal Audio Interface (iPod connectivity)

Adaptive Front Seats

Electric Seats

Heated Seats

Heated Steering Wheel

Rear Park Assist

Rear Wiper

Porsche VTS Tracking System

PSM Porsche Stability Management

Bi Xenon Lights With Wash

Climate Control Airconditioning

Gen II Model C2S With 3.8 DFI Direct Fuel Injection Producing 385 BHP

If you look at OPC's there are none that I can see with a descent spec for 42k. Unless you can get a good chunk knocked off the price:-)

OPC cars will always be much more. The price reflects the amount of money they have spent on it, plus their profit & that 2 year warranty on top!

If you want it, buy it. Seems you have fixed price motoring for a year or so, gives you time to save up for the warranty renewal.

Bit strong for a private sale. I think your offer is more than fair. I'd pay a bit more and get 2 year warranty and OPC back up for the car.

Get the car properly checked if you go for it. Overrevs and bores worth a look.

Yeah I did say that I would prefer to have had PSE above some of the other options on the car, when my offer was a little lower.

On a gen2 car?

I think I'd be prepared to take my chances if everything else stacked up.

You'd still want to know the rev range data though, over revs will potentially (depending what rev range they're in) result in a refusal of renewal of the porsche warranty (if you go down that route) or limit the specialists you can sell to when it comes to resale.

If on other cars I try and buy, and asked the seller to put the 2 year Porsche warranty on, then I suppose this would be OK regarding the rev range data?

I have mailed about 5 people with offers and asking them to put the 2 year warranty on this afternoon.

Don't suppose there is anyone on here selling a 997 turbo gen 1 (can't afford gen 2), or a 997 gen 2 C2S PDK or C4S PDK for sensible money that would get the warranty put on is there?

How would you go about over-revving a PDK car? Short of putting it in manual and letting it be dragged down a mathematically long enough and steep enough hill by the force of gravity until the engine passes its safety limit, I'm not aware of any way to over-rev a PDK.

Interested,,, how can you get an overrev on a pdk? I thought it would auto up shift and not allow a downshift if outside the normal rev range?
