944S2 - engine vibrations
Discussion
I have a 1989 944 S2 on 109k miles with a proper maintenance record, including belts changed 12 months ago. Until yesterday it ran beautifully. Since yesterday the car has had a pronounced and quite strong vibration apparently coming from the engine, across the rev range. It isn't making any nasty noises and it still pulls cleanly and strongly but there's definitely something not right - you can feel it. I'm guessing it's something like an engine mount or something related to the balancing shaft that's suddenly let go???
Anyone had similar problems? Any ideas what to check first? Or should I just take it to someone who knows what they are doing?! Do I need to warn the bank manager?!
All helpful suggestions welcomed pleeeease....

Always difficult to diagnose stuff like this via forum; but yes, balance belt and 944 vibrations are often connected. Best thing to do is take it to a tech who can have a good look at it, rather than leave it to forum guesswork. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but it is like a doctor trying to diagnose an illness without seeing the patient
