Been looking for some good value trackdays to finish the year off.

For £95 you can have a full day at Donington Park on Sundays in Nov & Dec, see:

www.donington-park.co.uk/trakzone/

Did this once earlier in the year, it is a superb track especially as it was re-surfaced a few months back. It was also run as an open pit lane so 200 miles is easy to reach and that means excellent value at under 50p per track mile, so the VFMI is good (Value For Money Index!)

I fancy going on Sunday 21st Nov, any other takers?

Sounds pretty good. Although I might go for the pay-on-the-day price, for a few quid extra you can decide on the day depending on weather, just in case it snows!!

This is the only track I’ve been on and it was a hoot.
£95 seems very good value. My last track day did cost a bit as I needed more than routine maintenance to put the car back to normal ......... brakes, warning lights, tyres.
I do have a set of spare wheels and tyres for my efforts ...very tempted

I could well be tempted for one of those. I've done several of the Donington 'own brand' trackdays and they are good value for money. The lasxt one I did was underbooked for sessions so went open pit lane

What is the situations with helments and safety wear?

I've been thinking about doing my first trackday maybe this year and £95 looks good.

Normal trackday rules= crash helmet tho Ive never known 'em check if its BSI stamped etc(*) also wear long sleeves & long trousers, altho on hot summer days-when its gets a tad warm in the car I generally try & ignore the trousers & long sleeves rules unless Im told off alto I did have to wear a pair of Merkin Melvs trousers once when marshcal did check, mind you they were just like long shorts when on anyway

(*) most companies will hire you a scabby old helmet that has had a thousand oteh sweaty heads in, but why bother when a decent motorbike lid can be had for as little a £50 up to £500- car specific lids are generally a fair bit more ££ but say an open face car specific helmet can be had for £70.

Plan to do a few of these days in Nov & Dec but, like, Butzi, will prefer to pay on the day, having checked out the weather situation first. Great value for open pit-lane.
