Hi all

A friend of mine has 911 KDX on retention - was going to put it on his new 996 but has been tempted by the dark side (new M5)

Any ideas what he should ask for it ?

The "X" is going to kill the value I'd have thought.

Best bet is to look at similar plates for sale; as with anything, its only worth what somebody's prepared to pay for it.

Three letters/three numbers go for at least 500 GBP even if they mean nothing. A 911 plate would be double that, I am confident. However, how much more than a grand it's worth does depend on what someone will pay. I've got B10VVN (nice turbo or supercharger plate) on retention from when I owned a Lotus Carlton; I used to think it was worth millions, but some reg plate companies have bid so low I'll probably keep it until I have a turbo car again

I agree that the 'X' in it is likely to take any major value out unless you can find someone with those initials!?

I would guess approx £500 just cos its 911. (Then add on your charges etc).

Ask someone like New Reg etc to see what they could return to you if they sell it.

I am still trying to get Hugh Grant's email address to see if he'd buy it
