996 gt2 brake ducts front

On a recent track i have damaged both sides, does anyone have the part number so I can order one?

They should do - I had 997 GT3 brake ducts on my old 996 and they were both fine and cheaper.

The original GT2 ducts are a two piece design (the parts are pop riveted together IIRC) they're deeper and when I last bought them, cost £70-80 each.
If you still have the original damaged items, they can be cable tied on far more securely than the hopeless oe method of attachment.

Same here, I have the 997 GT3 ducts on the front of my 996 turbo...about 7 quid a side

I ran these on my 996 turbo without any problems. I also ran the GT2 rears, but would probably go GT3 rear if I had to again.

You shouldn't expect anyone to appreciably undercut your nearest OPC. As for stock - if they don't have them they will likely get them as quickly as anyone else (the last time I needed some {many moons ago on my last car} my indy sourced them from Porsche and they arrived the next day).

Before you go out and buy the cheapest available, I'd suggest you read this thread.

Not sure if you're tracking the car with PCCB's or you've converted to steels ? If you are running PCCB's I wouldn't be skimping on duct sizes.

thanks for the link, im tracking the car, she is now on steels.

I've just been informed they might not be down intime however - what is instock is the 996 gt2 ones, but im concerned lot of money - if i damage them again. I have 2 days of tracking coming up, one day after the other.

I presume car will be ok with out them if they don't turn up?

You could always avoid the kerbs (and/or gravel traps)

The GT2 items are fine, but really need securing with extra cable ties. With a jack, axle stands and a drill, it's five minutes a side to add three or four cable ties to ensure they don't get ripped off if/when you do drive over the kerbs.
As can be seen from the thread I linked to, they're deeper than the 997 items and will duct the air more effectively.

Will the car be ok to run without them ? Only one way to find out ! ! But the temps in the UK currently will only add to any cooling issues you have.

i dont think anyone plans to go in the kitty litter - but a track day is all about learning and enjoying the car

FWIW the last ones I bought (from Porsche Reading) were 997 Cup ones and were so cheap I bought two pairs. The GT2 ones are bigger still but cost silly money.

I am in the process of cleaning and rewaxing my wheel arches, i dont believe my GT2 has any brake ducts at all i cant see any plastic part such as the pictures of ducts i see online. Presuming its important to have them, what is my best option for replacement....the part numbers listed above for standard or the GT3 ones, would anyone have part numbers to hand?

The part numbers above are correct. When the cars were new the dealers fitted them as part of the PDI.
