Hi,

Viewing this 996c4s tomorrow. Does anybody know anything about it please ? Seems a decent enough example from the pictures, and the chap selling it seems knowledgable.

Just wanted as much info and help as possible.

Thanks in advance....

Not heard of that dealer before and its certainly pretty cheap.

Are you having it inspected?

Looks like a nice car in a good colour scheme with a decent spec on the face of it.

You're right. On the face of it, it looks good. That's what worries me a little, oh we'll, we will see tomorrow.

That looks like a very tidy car.

The seats look immaculate and in much better condition than cars I looked at with half the miles.

Good luck, hope its as good as it looks

Both rpr & redline have great reputations so I'm sure between them you'll be fine

RPR - a pal of mine bought a 993 from them, probably 6 or 7 years ago.
After 6 months, there was a small issue, which he went back to them about.
They sent him a cheque to cover the problem.

250 miles between him and RPR and no formal warranty in place, but they were completely honourable.

Thanks for your help chaps.

Just returned from viewing the car. Both the car and the dealer were first class. PPI booked in for next week. So, watch this space.

Good luck with the PPI.
Same colour as mine.
Brought mine out the garage into the sun today. Sunroof and windows open for some PSE play around the local country lanes and tunnels.

Just got the PPI results back..

It needs a new RMS reasonably urgently, and the coolant levels were below minimum, but with no obvious leak.

Would this put anyone off ?

I'm a little concerned, but if I can get the garage to pay for the RMS, or take the money off and I will get it replaced straight away I'd probably still go ahead.

Any help or suggestions as to what you guys would do?

Thanks in advance.

If the PPI included a test on the cooling system, then the low level could be (but not necesessarily) a coolant reservoir cap that needs replacing for an updated version. A known simple fix sometimes.

How was the clutch, you could probable have both done together. In which case get the dealer to nock the price down.

I wonder how bad the RMS really is. If it is just weeping (i.e. a bit oily on the bottom) then that is pretty normal. If a pool of oil collects below it over time then it merits attention. This is based on what I was told during my year of 996 C4S ownership.

Not really sure.

The chap from the garage said it was " pretty bad" I asked him if it would put it him off buying the car and he said, it would have to be repaired quickly for him to buy it.

It looks like this as the mechanic took a few pictures....
