Hi Guys

Has anyone had any experience with retro fitting Aircon to pre-89 Carrera?

I have a MY89 car that came from factory without. I was speaking to a guy yesterday that had his retro-fitted so I googled this morning and came up with www.retroair.com selling kits.

Not original but if it works I would get to drive the car more (im in Australia) so am considering it.

If anyone has any experience would be great to hear good, bad or otherwise.

Thanks Mark

A lot of people here have the aircon removed so there's a decent chance of finding original equipment used. I know Unit 11 www.unit11.co.uk have done this for a few customers but there will be lots of others.

Hi Goose,

thanks. Yes I bought one without it as the original system just doesnt seem to work (especially down here) and just weighs more so was hoping an aftermarket kit may actually work enough for it to be worthwhile.

Cheers Mark
