I have been looking for the past 3 weeks for a C4S and in my eyes Seal/Meteor Grey (2nd choice Atlas) seems the best colours.

My spec would be a manual 06/07 car that has done 40k miles or less - FPSH - pay up to £30kish privately or £35kish from OPC. Options - PSE, Sunroof, Bose, Sports/Adaptive/Electric Memory seat.

Am I looking for something that will be tough to find or near impossible? Hope to buy a car in next 3 weeks.

Cheers B

I had the same problem, I was very clear from the outset what I wanted and finally got it from these guys above.
I doubt they have exactly what you want in stock but I have no doubt they would be able to track one down.
the whole buying experince was very good and having spent time in many other dealers they were by far and away the best to deal with. I also enjoyed having a poke round the rest of their stock, so really lovely toys. I swore I would never buy from a dealer but after these guys I am a convert!

I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage to be honest. Mine is an 06 plate and is approaching 74k miles - there is an argument that those cars that have been driven will be less likely to suffer the dreaded bore scoring issues documented elsewhere in the forum.

Rest of the spec looks nice though - good luck with the search biggrin

Personally I think that if you are looking at a 7-8 year old car, then anything less than 60k miles (I.e. 8,000 miles per annum) should be under consideration, providing everything else checks out in terms of servicing etc!

But then I would say that, wouldn't I...!!

I think you need to pay a little more to find what you are looking for.

You want the best engine, ideal sepec, a nice colour combination low milage and only want to spend £30k privately? I think you will struggle.

Maybe up your budget a few £k and be a little flexible on spec and you will find something.

Saw two one from Cridfords - Silver with Sunroof, PSE, Electric M. Seats - Very nice car - Not biggest fan of silver and the other private. Private one was lovely car no sunroof - Short Shift felt good.

I'm with you on the silver - very plain. Basalt was my first choice and I was lucky that there's a good few about.

Good luck. It's a great spec you want and you'll be a more patient man than me if you can hold your ground for the perfect one smile

On my 7C4S I went more for condition and added PSE afterwards. You can also retrofit sports chrono should you wish.

I'd imagine that the X51 is nice to have on a used car when you aren't paying much for it - £2k extra compared to a 'normal' 3.8?

I'd recommend Gareth at http://www.bespoke-auto.co.uk if you want to find an particular spec of car - he's got contacts with many dealers, so often will hear of cars well before they come on the market.
I used him for both my Cayman and my current M3, it took a lot of the hassle out of the process...

If your budget is near the 35k mark, then can sir interest you in a 996 turbo...

I'm sure montthefish will appear at some point and post his purchase ladder !!!

I'm a neanderthal, so anything that says extra power and noise has got to be worth more than a sunroof smile

Never driven it, looks like good bragging rights though as it's pretty rare.
