Looks like the rear's are nearly done on the Spyder. Obviously want to match the fronts and have Porsche approved but wondering where else I can find Porsche Pirelli P Zero apart from an OPC.

Been quoted £350 (incl fitting) and wondering if anyone knows anywhere thats cheaper?

Out of interest, what miles have you done?

Just replaced the rear Bridgestones on mine but they had done 16500 miles.

They were cheaper than that at OPC.

I generally look at blackcircles.com for price comparison purposes but there are other sites too.

Rob,

Managed 11,000 on mine, however I must have a heavy foot as picked up the car in January with under 9k miles and the OPC said the rear tyres had 3mm left (if I remember correctly). Have not yet measured them but they look close to the wear indicators.

Maybe the highwear was due to the run I had in the Scottish Borders with a 996 GT3 !!

Should add that it is Pirelli P Zero's that are on my Spyder

Pretty sure I'll be going for super sports after these bridgestones die out :/

I changed to Michelin Super Sports and I have to say they are in a different league to any other road rubber.
They are so much more progressive - the only problem is that I can't help myself when it comes to sideways action now.

They would be cheaper as Porsche cannot sell them :-)

Mine is in at the OPC today having the clutch switch sorted. They tell me that after less than 6k miles I need two new rear tyres as they are wearing unevenly, and then it needs the geo re-set. I haven't knocked it out of alignment! Anyone else had this? Will fully wear them out first!

Plus they say I need 2 litres of oil costing £50! Unbelieveable! Will get it myself.

My first experience of Porsche servicing - to be expected I suppose!

I wonder if that was the original set - there are reports of much (much!) lower than 11k being achieved on P Zeros.

More wear at the edges than the middle apparently. It's still there so can't see it myself. It was a demo car for 300miles before I owned it, so could have been knocked then, but I certainly haven't had any incidents that may have caused it. Doesn't do it by itself.

Didn't realise oil was that expensive! Usually just get it done at service - might as well get them to do it.

They also want £50 to 'clear out the radiator'. Just have visions of a man in a Porsche jumper leaning over and pulling a handful of leaves out then laughing to himself!!

A good going over with the Dyson gets rid of most of the leaves.
