Im considering moving over to the dark side...
So ceramics or not?
-If you track the car often (i.e more than once or twice a year) then no
Front lift?
- Useful if you encounter large speed bumps or multi story car parks but not necessary. Its a nice to have.
Sports Chrono?
- Not sure
these seem to be the variables that matter.
Whats the reality?
Thank you
Hope that helps So ceramics or not?

1. NO Ceramics and I like them that way BUT you can search for the endless to/fro on this on
2. YES Front Lift definitely helps with the speed bumps/steep drive....
and
3. YES But only because it was already fitted.

Having spent a little time looking for a 997.2 GT3 RS recently, I think you’ll find that you will pretty much have to take what’s available at the time to be honest, unless you are prepared to wait…and possibly wait some more.
There are not too many cars coming up for sale and well spec’d cars with strong and verifiable histories go very quickly. When I was looking there were a couple for sale that I would have felt comfortable purchasing, but neither I would say had my perfect spec’ and so I held off.
In the end I gave up and ordered a 991 GT3 as it was the only way to get what I wanted…

How bizarre, my blue one has ceramics, chrono but no lift. The yellow one I bought has lift, but no chrono or ceramics!
My thoughts are the same as the previous poster in that you have to prioritise what's important and go with what's available closest to your ideal spec. I don't think any of the options listed are "must haves" though.
Ceramics are great but of more benefit if tracked. However the replacement price is very high and bearing in mind the ESP will wear then out as well as braking, you will find them an expensive option to maintain. For the garage queens, there is no brake dust which is handy.
I've never used the chrono, and actually have no idea how to! Luddite, I know. But it looks cool.
Lift can be very useful, but again not essential.

Ceramics - no if you will track it, otherwise unimportant either way (just don't pay a premium). There are many threads...So ceramics or not?
Front lift?
Sports Chrono?

Front lift - useful if it is on a car that you were interested anyway but note that they do supposedly go wrong from time to time (an issue if you will at any point be running it out of warranty) and splitters are both not especially expensive nor particularly prone to falling off on the 997.
Sport Chrono - utterly pointless : I don't know anyone who has ever used it (myself included. Note that on a Carrera it gets you the sports throttle map and reduced PSM intervention but on a GT3 you get all of that as standard regardless: this option on a GT3 is nothing more than a stopwatch in the middle of the dashboard).

Not unless you plan to track
Front lift?
Not really needed unless you drive over speed bumps, but I imagine seen as mandatory come resale time (especially to southerners)
Sports Chrono?
No

buckets ???

Thank you
All IMHO, looker/potential buyer not yet an owner Not unless you plan to track

From one porsche to another ???From a very leathery road car to an RS is a move to the dark side to me

So thanks to all for the comments although the ceramics seems to confuse everyone... If tracking yes you need them or if tracking you dont want them LOL
I didnt realise that about the sport chrono just being a stopwatch when on GT3's.
ok I'll bite.....
If you track the car, you want PCCBs. epic stopping power and fade resistant.
front lift is not essential on a 7.2RS unless the incline to your garage is a problem. Grounding is not a problem and the splitter doesn't fall off like in the 996.
Sport chrono is simply a stopwatch.
My car . my blue 7.2RS

Can't you get an aftermarket solution? There's seems to be 2 available. Techart, car graphics. Or even get the OEM system retrofitted (7k from reading it somewhere though!!).
Gone through 4 997 gt3 and rs's .
Ceramics not noticeably better at stopping just better with heat .
Nice to have and last a long time if you keep holes clear and do cool down laps ( replace pads earlier than you think too ) .
Didn't spec them on 4.0 though as unnecessary IMHO .
I like sports chrono , I fiddle with it constantly on road trips , never needed front lift ( just drive slow when necessary and just get the odd scrape ).

Assuming that this is not a troll (it has been done to death in many threads after all) - the long term average extra costs for using them on track works out at upwards of £700 per day (just on brake consumables and can be more if not looked after) and they don't give any measurable performance improvement. Fans of PCCB are usually people who don't keep them long enough to have to replace them, people who don't track or people who don't care in the slightest what anything costs. If you track the car, you want PCCBs. epic stopping power and fade resistant.

I don't understand how any of this is troll-like. Likewise, I don't tell you to shut up because you believe different from me.
