Buying a second hand 997 and want to put a cheap personalised plate on it.

What's the cheapest way of doing this? I really couldn't care less what the plate says, just want to disguise the age.

The DVLA website is the cheapest place as the £85 transfer fee is included in the price, My Wife paid £250 for J 60 SLO after I wrote off the 968S

...oh no sorry you said cheapest.

Cheap plates look a bit nasty IMO, but the cheapest way is probably to buy from the DVLA.

Cheapest way is probably to pick up a bargain bucket plate from the DVLA at £250 from here:

Rv4.co.uk has them starting at £30. With fees it comes to around £150.

Don't suppose it can be done cheaper than this right?

Dare I ask why you want to disguise the age of the car?

I suspect so his £20K 997 will look like a £70K car to untrained eyes...

not many 70K cars running "Cheap" plates though.

For me a cheap plate doesnt hide the age of the vehicle, it announces it.

Putting the cheap plate on it doesn't matter anyway as 997 Carrera's are old and look old anyway now wink
