Basic question: does it have one has standard?

Picking up a 997.1 coupe tiptronic tomorrow and trying to sort out insurance online. Admiral is asking if it has an immobiliser, I'm not sure.

Advice appreciated.

If it's an 06MY then it's likely it will also have a VTS - Porsche branded tracking system. Thatcham CAT 5; it is only accept ive if subscribed to so check first.

Thanks Pope, it's an 05 so I guess immobiliser only? I imagine the immobiliser is of the standard insurance companies expect?

Thatcham approved factory installed remote controlled alarm and active immobiliser with central locking, movement sensor, interior monitoring and deadlocking. Insurance co. SHOULD know what they are dealing with. There is a Thatcham approval code......

(Goes off to try and find it........)

Funnily enough, you would think that the insurance co would know what they were doing, but sadly from my registration that car was coming up as a cabriolet at one particular insurer when it's a coupe and the same insurance company told me a Carrera S does not have a 3.8 litre engine banghead

The guy in India in the call centre wasn't able to help beyond telling me the options on his computer and even suggested the car could be a GTS or Turbo!
