Today was my last day in uniform after 25 years in the Army. I was actually organising a demonstration of some of our large trucks we use for some civilians which gave me a chance to drive some of them for the last time.
The place we were using also happened to be where the military test the vehicles prior to bringing them into service.
One part of it is this.......

A 1/2 mile tarmac circuit closed off to the public with good run-offs as you can see

I also had this parked up.....

So a few things i learnt today were as follows:
1. PSM is there for a reason and thinking your better than it is stupidity hence the spin on the 3rd lap.
2. A C4S is actually quite hard to get the tail out.
3. The Scandinavian flick does work and makes point 2 above nonsense!
4. Tyres that were close to the limit have now reached it!
5. Best bit of fun ive had for a long time.
6. I dont think its hit me yet i will not wear Army uniform again.

Hi, just a note to say that as one of the masses on the UK's shores who frankly takes peace and a well defended country for granted, I value your commitment. Thank you to you and to your colleagues.

Good post,

I hope you managed to get your resettlement training in and have a plan. I left HM employ 4 years ago and really enjoy not putting a uniform on, but I am still working with a bunch of guys I served with so the banter hasn't stopped. Remember the Pong will wear off eventually and despite evidence to the contrary Submariners do it deeper. Go well.
