I'm really struggling to make my mind up on this and so I though i'd see if others have done a similar thing. Ultimtely I realise it's my decision at the end of the day, but good to see what others have done...google hasn't really helped much.

Car is going in to Lepsons tomorrow to have all 4 wheels refurbished, and then 4 new PS2s fitted (courtesy of Camskill).

The car is Gen1 Cayman S in Arctic Silver and the wheels are the standard 18" Cayman S 5 spoke wheels. I'm not sure whether to keep them the standard silver or something else, like the new Platinum colour Porsche offer on newer cars. My concern is that a darker colour might mean the wheels look lost in the arches a bit.

I've not seen any other Cayman's with different wheel colours so maybe that answers my question...

The 19" Carrera Sport rim (I think that's the name), was factory finished in GT Silver - looks good on lighter cars IMHO. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/automotive-part...

Thats interesting, it's more of a grey/blue hue to it..

Subtle, but perhaps a good suggestion actually.

It is subtle, but works well - scroll down on this link to see a silver Cayman with them fitted: http://www.planet-9.com/porsche-tires-wheels/4796-...

I have them on my Carrara White car, and the slightly darker colour just works - on the standard Cayman S rims I think it'd work well, though perhaps be slightly less subtle due to the wider spokes. Probably not a bad thing as you'd want it slightly more noticeable on a silver car??

I do like those wheels!

The colour difference can be seen there, and I think it works actually. I wanted a car in GT silver but finding one was proving tricky.

And i think you're right, more painted area might just give the right level of contrast

Another vote for GT silver. it appears darker on wheels than it does on bodywork, and looks fabulous as a contrast to arctic silver.

Well, I assume it's GT silver, it's a kinda light gunmetal colour

Yep - it's GT Silver. Says so somewhere in the brochure AFAIK. Really like it on my white 987S, and it's an official Porsche colour too.

Ok so I didn't go with GT Silver in the end, but I saw some like this and quite liked it. A bit different and maybe not to everybody's taste, but too late now wink

Good job by Lepsons and happy to take delivery of my Michelins from Camskill and fit them too.

Nice - and by the look of it a great job too.

Well according to Lepsons, they are two tone black chrome but heavy on the silver, they have a demo wheel with it in the shop.

The reason I didn't go with GT Silver was because they'd have had to order the colour in and would have had my car for longer and I'm off to Le Mans on Thursday. But I'm really happy actually with the colour I chose, gives enough contrast without being too dark.
