Hi all. Toying with the idea of swapping out of a 7.1 GT3 and getting into a 7.2 RS. There is one at Romans that has the right spec but the price is incredible. Literally.

£103k?! That's 7-8k above OPC prices. An I missing something with this car or is it just overpriced compared to the current market?

Incidentally it apparently has an OPC warranty and isn't being sold as a SOR. Presumable that warranty becomes void?

I believe in theory warranty becomes void if the previous owner sells his car to the trade but warranty is transferable in a private sale....

Very desirable and very rare car.

He is testing the market and who can blame him?

Launch colour, low miles and perfect spec (1). If you were a dealer selling it at the peak of the track day season a couple of weeks after an underpriced 3.8RS sold in 2 days : wouldn't you see if it would go for top money?

[ (1) Some people think that these should have ceramics. As far as I am concerned they are entitled to their opinion, but I am on record on a small subset of the dozens of threads about them over the last decade as thinking that steels are the preferred option. So lets leave that discussion off of this thread everyone - the OP may use the search and form their own opinion if so inclined ]

I don't get this, they are two (one at Nick Whale, the other at Paragon) for up to £14k less

What are the price drivers ?? Colour, miles ???

I would say that the key drivers are the sellers. They have all of the cards.

Tell me about it, I'm trying to get some funds together ASAP to buy one that I've been offered privately, i'm normally quite a cool/ detached character when it comes to cars (no need to rush next one will be around in a minute) but something about these things has created a real sense of urgency in me.

Perhaps it's having watched scuderias slip out of reach over the past year :-(

Agreed ,
Launch colour & carbon interior etc etc , stuff all mileage too .
here's a thought , RS 4.0 is circa 200K , this car half that .
Is it half the car?? - absolutely not ! Buy it !

What's wrong with the one in Hatfield. You can add all the carbon bits you want aftermarket (mac carbon does a good job apparently) and has 2yr warranty.

And does not strain your eyes every time you look at it with contrasting colors that are borderline acceptable only b/c it's an RS but nobody would meet ever dare to have on any other car. Which on the side also means people take you for a maniac everywhere you go :-)

No doubting it is in excellent condition and a great colour plus spec. But I was just genuinely wondering is it worth £7-8k more than the OPC cars with similar mileage?

The warranty isn't affected as it's the third year manufacturers warranty, It's only the approved warranty that's non transferable through a dealer.
Even if it had ceramics it would be still be a bit overpriced. Can't blame them for trying though, it's a fantastic looking car.

NW doesn't have lift.

I have a feeling though the market is a bit overheating on these don't you think.

To be fair this is the outlier in terms of price by almost 10% when you take the 2 year warranty into account. That said the 991 '3 is just around the corner and although the 991 and pre-991 GT3s look to be very different beasts surely if you paid £103k for this you take a bit of a correction.

Its a stunning thing though.
