WHAT CAN I EXPECT

Cayman 2.7 with cruise control , going down to Italy on a road trip and will be doing 80 mph and no more
Due to police speed traps etc ( I work over their) , got to convince the mrs to forget the idea of taking the Volvo convertible oil burner!!! , hoping for 30 mpg your thoughts please

Indicated 80 on cruise - you'll crack 30 no problem.
Mollie had a heavy right foot :-)
I'd agree with this. Just back from a Euro trip including Italy and the 911 showed 28.9 over 2000 miles. That includes some very high speed stuff through Germany on the unrestricted bits. PDK top gear helps. Mollie had a heavy right foot :-)

In fact the best thing to do is not own a Porsche at all, then you'll save loads of money, in fact why not sell the Volvo too and just stay at home and watch eastenders! Hang on what am I saying? Sack of the tv and stare at the wall and that's another £150 tv license money in your sky rocket LOLMore comfortable - check

All good points, but I think most people would still take the Porsche. What is the point in owning one if you use another car for a journy like this?More comfortable - check

In answer to the original question, I find that I have to stick to 70 if I want to average 30 mpg. At 80, I'd be down in the late 20s, but mine is a 3.2S with no cruise control, so it may just about be possible in thw 2.7.
Lol some good comments ,expected a few but……
