Hi, my car has done 3k since its last service at the OPC which was 12 months ago. Shall I bother doing an interim oil change myself given the car is on a 2 yr service schedule. The car is running Mobil 1 0w-40
Thanks

I've probably done no more than 2k since my last service last year and also on two year service intervals. I booked it in for an oil service and a MOT today, extra stamps in the book aren't going to hurt and its not that expensive for an oil change

Yes because every specialist seems to agree that the 2yr servicing cycle is not good for the health of the engine.

Fresh oil is never a bad thing for a 997.

I just did my Spyder too.

Approx 5000 miles or so but 12 months seems long enough for me and certainly won't do it any harm.

It will about £70 if I did it myself. I was just under the impression that the long life Mobil oil is designed to last 2 years and with 3k miles per year it should drain out clean

If its the Boxster in your profile pic then Kwik Fit will order in the correct spec oil and filter and do it for £45-55. Its just an oil change which you don't need an OPC for.
