Im a new member on here but have been browsing for years. Currently a M3 E92 owner and looking at buying a 997 Turbo Coupe or Convertible.

From what I understand the 997 Turbo is pretty bullet proof, and havent ever read on any forums about the turbo being a problem car.

Ive also read somewhere before that the Chrono Pack is a must?

Just really looking for as much info as possible.

My budget will be the lower end of the market as I will only use it a couple of times a month.

What is the Porsche warranty like? Mondial for BMW have been brilliant to me over the years (All ///M cars)

TIA for any tips/advice.

The Porsche Warranty is very good. Some didn't like the qualification criteria when it was re-jigged a few years ago, but most now accept that it's essential on something like the 997 Turbo.

Agreed wouldnt touch a turbo without one. All three of mine had it and warranty claims covered the initial cost many times over.

For me, the must haves were:

Sports Chrono: it delivers additional boost
Manual - it's too good to miss, especially if the alternative is tip (rather than pdk)
Adaptive Sports Seats
