997 Tiptronic - how to improve response times

I commute in my car, which means that I spend some on my journey in heavy traffic. My tiptronic gearbox is always trying to "learn" to adapt to my driving style, however, it seems to favour a more relaxed program than I would like. I guess that is due to the time spent in heavy traffic.

I know that I can unplug the battery for an hour to reset the learnt behaviour, but I wondered if there was an easier way to switch between modes? For example, is there an upgrade chip?

My car has a Porsche warranty which I'd prefer not to invalidate!

I had a commuter 987 tiptronic for 4 years, was great in traffic as you say but wasn't the most responsive when you wanted to press on in the car, the only solution I found was to use the manual mode and use the buttons on the steering wheel. This type of dual use is where the newer style PDK really ticks the box.

Try a rapid double stamp on the throttle. In the 996 turbo tip, that switches the TCU into the most aggressive shifting and most responsive of the maps. I think you then have to drive in a quite spirited way to keep it in that map though...

Does your car have a Spirts button to put it in Sports mode?
