Ok, I'm sure this has been answered many times but my trusted indie tells me it is time for a refresh on the suspension of my 993 C4S(totally standard with hollow spoke 18's),with play in the struts under braking and an increasingly crashy ride.
So after many hours studying Jackal's amazing site I think the KW set-up he has may be beyond my driving talent but the solid GT2 tie rods sound like a good idea if still available

The car has done 85k but drives very well so I'm told, but what else in general will need changing and what would be a good set-up for fast(ish) road use for the roads in the Peak District? Also any rough idea of cost?

New shocks (Bilstein or Koni FSD seem to be the current best out there) and springs (Eibach, M030 or maybe H&R if you like it hard and low!) plus labour, plus replacing top mounts, bushes, droplinks, sundries etc followed by a decent geo, you'll be lucky to get any change from £2k, but you'll be surprised by the difference I think.

Get along to a meet with other 993 drivers and get some rides in other setups (911uk meets are pretty 993 heavy!). One man's hard ride is another's soft so get an idea of what you like, and go for it. It'll probably not need anything else spending on it suspension-wise other than a regular geo for the time you own it.

Give Chris Franklin a bell at Center Gravity as he knows these 993 things inside out and is willing to give great advice. Gert (Carnewal) is probably also the cheapest supplier of kit too.

Yes give Chris a bell at CoG. He is very well informed and I would suspect Koni FSD will be right for you. Eibach springs have no settlement time either so once on and geo'd you are good to go.

£2k is about right.

Even a refresh with standard parts will make a huge difference. 993s are horrible on tired suspension and the wide-bodied cars even more so.

When I did mine it transformed the car. The only modification was RS front lower control arms on the recommendation of Steve at Jaz.

It was night and day different

Hi cd, thx for the kind comment.

Just to let you know i use pss10 now with custom springs. The rear spring on the kw kit i found much too firm for an uprated 993 at rs ride height.

Chris is great ad he can check every ball joint, bush and top mount. There are many many items under there that can screw everything up.
