Cat D write off and therefore asking price very optimistic. I note that seller Dale has amended his advert to remove any reference to the AutoLign inspection. Am I missing something or is this very good value....seems far too cheap?
ETA: this car was advertised last week the contact name was Mark in Staffs. Priced at £53,735. this week, the advert is 99% the same but the contact is Dale in Staffs. Now priced at £49,995. Interestingly, the following has been removed from the advert: "Autolign Inspection Certificate Available." "body repairs carried out by Ninemeister to MIRRC (Thatcham) standard."

I know of one sold relatively cheaply 3 years back where the red graphics/ wheels were replaced by black, although this one could just be different car. That car sold for around £47.5k and hadn't been bent ... although this 'could' be the same car and 'could' have been bent since!

It's purely a matter of value for money surely? If you could get an rs for 2/3 of the non cat d price and it has been fixed well and can be verified you might be ok with it. what about if it was 30k?TX.

75k Jeez. Why would you do that when for 57k you can buy one from JZM with 26k miles or less. Providing you get it checked and it hasn't been bashed that's the better buy. The mileage difference in 10yrs is frankly negligible and in 5 yrs when the one from JZM has done 35k and yours is on 20 it's even less of an issue. As I said providing it isn't bashed the dealer one will come with a warranty. Far more downside at 75k.

If you intend to drive and track the car, I don't see the big issue with a known history car. If you buy them right, I can't see even a damaged and well repaired car being a bad ownership proposition based on depreciation. A well repaired car will drive every bit as well as an undamaged car. It may even have the advantage of removing some worry about what effect on value anyone unlucky enough to have a small off on a spirited track drive may have in the back of the mind. An original panel car, low owner, low miles etc etc .. will always be worth more and probably appreciate more/depreciate less, but the reason these cars are in demand is the way they drive.

Coz the JZM car will not be good enough for some people,including myself,I want the best and IMO the price is not that relevant,my car took 2 years and many a wasted trip to a perfect car..very happy to pay a premium for that.The mileage difference in 10yrs is frankly negligible and in 5 yrs when the one from JZM has done 35k and yours is on 20 it's even less of an issue.
