Clearing the gunge from a 997.2

Apologies if it's an old question, but I'm hoping for advice on the easiest way to clean out the gunge (rotting leaves etc) which have accumulated around the base of the condensers. What do I need to remove to improve access?

Bumper off is the most comprehensive way of doing it, to get into all the corners, else gentle jet blast/hosing should remove most bits

Did you pick up the manual gen 2 car that was for sale as your new ride?

or a metal coat hanger opened out, which ever is easier to find.....

Make sure it's all nice a dry (i.e. not after a drive on a wet day) and use a hoover with the thin get-into-the-nooks attachment. Even if it won't suck bigger leaves and such up the tube, at least it'll have enough suction to hold onto them to remove by hand.

As above.......and wrap brown packaging tape (the wide stuff) around the end of a wire coathanger and most of the crap will stick to it (I found a fag end in mine !!). Next time I'll tape a flexi pipe to my Dyson if I can't get one of the attachments through the gap.

My local OPC quoted £156 to remove the bumper,clear out the rubbish and replace the bumper.

Sold the Spyder about a month ago. Bought a Gen 2 997S just over a week ago. Giving it a scrub over the weekend and noticed the "gunge!"

I made the mistake of trying to wash it out with the hose. Should probably have tried to retrieve it when it was dry.

Really enjoying the car. Not taken any decent pics yet but to give an idea...

Think this may be the answer. I'll have to let it dry out.

The claw may be a little small but worth a try.

Using a hoover is good for clearing the stuff you can see, but doesn't it pack behind the bumper sometimes as well? I've never had the bumper off my own car, but might consider it one of these days.

Yes I really like the colour. Being critical it would look so much better 30mm lower!
