996tt Dipstick

Trying to clear a long running query i have, Do any 996tt have dipsticks as i have a 2001 996tt and there's a dipstick tube under the oil filler cap but no dipstick.

I am having problems with my oil level sensor it reads over full on dash then after driving it occasionally i get a low oil level warning, i had the oil level sensor replaced by JZM but still have the same issue, I also showed them the dipstick tube to which he said he doesn't know why that's there and he reckoned it had been put there by someone and that's its useless?

I have read forums where people have said yes and no i just want a definitive answer to this as its driving me crazy.

My Mk1 GT3 has a dipstick as well as sensor. The Mk2 just has a sensor, I always thought the Turbos just had a sensor too.

I didn't think any 996t's had a dipstick.

The filler neck goes down at a funny angle below the cap, so I can't see how a dipstick would work.

No oil level dipstick, at least from the factory.

Reads like the e-oil level sensor is broken. Variable level readings suggest the fine wires in the sensor have come loose and are moving about.

The 996.2 GT3 has a dipstick inside the oil filler tube.
