The battery on my wifes 07 Boxster appears to have given up. Is there any thing I should do before removing to prevent the loss of radio codes or any other problems that I haven't considered. Thanks
radio codes were fine when my battery went flat - only thing to watch out for is being unable to open bonnet as its electrically operated and you will need some jump leads on the fuse box terminal if your battery is completely flat/ removed from car.
987 is different to the 986 in that you don't have to worry about the alarm or losing radio codes when changing the battery. You'll get a PSM warning failure when you next start it up, after changing the battery, but that will clear as soon as you drive off.
If it's not still under the Porsche warranty - make sure you put a Bosch Silver S5 battery in it! Brilliant and not expensive (unlike the Porsche Moll batteries)!!
